I believe the calculation is flawed. Beijing at the moment has 6 ring roads circling the city. Singapore size is only up to 5th ring but Beijing appears less dense owing to a larger denominator.
If you simply calculate Beijing population within 5th ring, the number far surpass Singapore's number. Don't get me wrong, I am against 6.9 million but do not play 数字游戏 to prove a point. Fight fair.
Ok. I think I approached Woon's statement from the wrong angle. I starting to understand where he is coming from and I do agree that yes, there is no pressure-release valve in the form of a country side.
