Thanks. I was quite taken with the idea. It came to me a in a, dare I say it, flash!
I really, really want to pursue this. We could use a wiki (as a start point) and set a subject and publish the URL at a prearranged time
try to create a resource based on the subject in, say, an hour or a day - pull in photos from Flickr, etc
or Flashmeet on Wikipedia and create a page about something that's not there; a place or a historic event
Use VFlashmeetings to develop "virtual activists", people who will go out and find new tools, edit wikis, etc
Did you want to organize a small project group? I could probably invite the Howard. He might be interested in participating.
I might also be able to do some "non-destructive testing" with the LCC students in Sept/Oct
Let's do it
who is setting up the wiki and where?
why not sue wikipedia as suggested. Ideas: we could wiki either sociallearn or building learning power
As a proof-of-concept,
robp, so over a specified period of time in an interactive, focussed way or as a general resource?
That also gives me the idea for course content developed as a virtual SmartMob.
I was thinking as a proof of concept, and then let's see where it goes
Cool beans! I like that a lot (well, I guess I would!)
So shall we use this tool (Plurk) to arrange it?
Twitter might be better in terms of audience reach? Or is that an issue? Howard doesn't Plurk, for example, but he might be happy to be...
informed via another mechanism.
be exclusive! Use Plurk! <slinskaway>
I'm less worried about what tool we use but I want to make sure we've all agreed which it is. This seems better because of the threads
I've added a discussion thread to the SL Ning forum for this exchange, including archiving the exchange there.
Essay displacement??
