I gotta get an old crap PC going for a hack project.. last OS to touch this P.O.S was Windows 95 - what's slackware like nowadays? I haven't touched it since 1999, but remember it fondly (running on crap PCs)
And not so fondly (10 billion floppy disc install)
I don't know about Slackware these days, but you might want to check out Damn Small Linux or Puppy Linux. Both are meant to run on minimal systems.
I'll have a looksee. It doesn't need to do much, I'm probably only going to use it to save me possibly screwing up this computer while screwing around with keyboard and mouse hacks (that have to be done live)
I've used Slackware derivatives on older machines for some time (one 10 year old PII laptop was capable of not much else before it quit completely) and I expect it'd work quite well.
Time to brush up on my Linux - haven't really done much with it since late 2003 (geez what happened in 2003?). If it's too dated I also have an old Dell that's a little shorter in the tooth...
