Had to give out a dentention today to a HS student for a safety rule violation in my classroom. She tried so hard to turn it into my fault instead of owning it. Not sure which bothered me most because I am very

adiment about my safety rules in the classroom. I believe in putting the tools necessary in a students hand to do the job correctly but they need to learn to respect those tools and rules.

In my shop class, if a student caught ME violating a safety rule they could call me on it and get a reward for it! That way...

beliefs of what we are trying to teach them. And, in this case it was more about life lessons than an actual art lesson, there are boundaries and we cross them there are consequences.
