Consumers Energy must have realized we hadn't had a power outage in over a month, so they decided to give us an unexpected one this afternoon.

Restoration is scheduled for 5:30pm so that would only be 4.5 hours. But of course we'll never know the reason for this outage.

Curious thing is that there's another similar size outage on the other side of town. What's up with that?

Well, you remember how some lanes of the George Washington Bridge got mysteriously closed in Fort Lee, New Jersey? Did your mayor have anything to do with Chris Christie? (unsure)

Consumers Energy, with the lame (trademarked) slogan "Count on Us". Yeah, right. But yeah, their ad copy is easy to write these days.

DevSpamNull: I"m beginning to envy some of the off-grid folks who are able to generate their own power. And even sell it back to "the man" when they get extra.

But if you're in a hurry, I suggest you just crush a couple of Vivarin caffeine tablets and toss them into a Coke! Of course you could end up like this... gifs.com/CpB

I don't think that guy has ever been in Norway. Because that would be ice coffee in about 10 minutes there. And even here in Spain I think that would end up cold-ish even after 2 hours in the sun.

"We put power in your hands" was retired quietly after a legal case involving an unfortunately literally minded customer.
