uh final fantasy anything
dreamoftheroselin: I hate dissidia!kefka's design. WHY IS HE TALL? HE SHOULD NOT BE TALL. and despite not having played the games, i know that dissidia!kuja is ooc from my gleanings of the plot
HE'S THE MOST COMPETANT VILLAIN IN THE ENTIRE SERIES, WHY DID YOU MAKE HIM A BRAINLESS PRETTY BOY IN DISSIDIA
i think dissidia is pure wish fulfillment tbh
Lady_Angelina: I don't like Kristoph or Klavier. I...dont' know if that's unpopular or not?
and i think manfred was actually an ok father! he wasn't great, but he wasn't terrible either. he genuinely loved his kids
dreamoftheroselin: how is depowering kuja wish fulfillment ;o; although i'll admit that im currently shamelessly complaining about games i haven't played yet |D; which is very rude, i know
Klavier always struck me as kind of a divisive character. Like not quite "you love him or you hate him" levels, just that he has a strong amount of both fans and not-fans
makes sense. i'm p sure that not being fond of the aj game is a popular opinion; i thought it was ok, but i feel like phoenix and klavier steal the game from apollo but don't do it in a very interesting way
Yeah. I enjoyed AJ for the most part myself, but it felt wishy washy about a lot of things.
like how much attention they wanted to give Apollo
Yeah, what
Nebberson said... personally, I do like Klavier but not
that much, and outside of an excellent RP portrayal, I didn't care for Kristoph either
i wish we saw more of klavier being a petty asshole or that i had more reason to care about everyone he loves betraying him; he has potential to be an interestnig character, but aj didn't act on it
wish fulfillment ie all characters meeting in the same game w/o really thought out plot
And

on Manfred! I think of him as more strict than anything else
granted i've only played through half the first game, but the cut scenes were really awkward for me to watch past my fangirling of oooh pretty graphics!
kristoph and klavier had potential, but it felt like i got pulled into the story of the two beautiful and hyper competant brothers. i couldn't get into it. i had no emotional attachment to either of them.
AJ was a bit too short there, yeah... we really only learn anything about Klavier in cases 3 and 4, and that wasn't much
yeah, von karma was probably really strict and put on pressure but he was trying to be helpful! it was how he was raised, so it was how he was raising his kids.
dreamoftheroselin: i have my own Opinions on how a dissidia game should go, and a good chunk of them are the villains falling into infighting because they all have different goals and -
And actually, you've touched on one of my issues with the later installments of the series... new characters that are just expies of previous ones, with shoehorned backstories
accidentally break the dissidia system, which means the heroes have to scramble to make sure the world doesn't fall apart while stopping the people making it fall apart
also kefka and kuja toss the emperor off a cliff
Lady_Angelina: I haven't had a chance to play dual destinies yet, so I can't comment on that |D
however, I hope that things aren't as shallow or as cynical as the plot of aj turned out. all of the games have a thematic thing going on with the reveal, and a reveal of LOL PEOPLE YOU LOVE ACTUALLY HATE YOU
really depressing to go through four times in a row 8'|
...granted, if i could make my ideal game, it would end up as von karmas 2: electric boogaloo, and look at the repurcussions of phoenix being overturned as well as the return of von karma family shenanigans
as well as von karma's granddaugther falling for trucy after swearing vengeance on phoenix and hilarity ensuing
Ahhh... well, I won't spoil it, but I admit, while I enjoyed the game, the overarching plot often made me
And yes... DO WANT
...i think i like your idea better than the actual game
Lady_Angelina: i'm spoiled on some of the overarching plot! although i like the villain because i've mostly met them through really good fanfic, they really suck at planning
dreamoftheroselin: all the latter ff villains really hate people trying to control them; can you imagine the fits they'd throw on finding out they've been tossed into the magic hunger games?
they're going to fuck up the game and show whoever made it who is boss. (kefka, kuja, seph) or realize that this is going to blow up the dissidia world and start doing stuff to stop it. (ulti, seph)
exdeath and cod want to kill everyone anyway so they're all YES LET'S BLOW EVERYTHING UP
golbez ends up working for garland
...i have no idea what jecht does, and maybe replace him with seymour because that would be hilarious. or jecht decides to switch sides because he is surrounded by assholes
empy gets killed halfway through as the 'villains are destroying the world' metaplot kicks in because i have an irrational grudge against him for stealing thunder from actual good villains
he didn't work for his power and i don't care about imperialism, i want to see the people who kill off emperors and ceos and work for power gang up on him
Golbez working for Garland sounds amazing

THEY WILL KNOCK YOU ALL DOWN
EVERYONE IS GETTING KNOCKED DOWN >8O
...what if there was a villain/hero team up to break the cycle so everyone could go home
everyone's sick of this nonsense
yuna makes like she did when yunalesca did the thing and punches out an eldrich abomination
kuja is scarily competant, ok, he's 24 and manages to pull off stunts in his game that none of the other villains could handle. UNPOPULAR OPINION: KUJA IS SCARY COMPETANT
he starts several wars and successfully steals a bunch of summons, he blows up a couple towns, he built his power up from nothing after he got dumped on gaia, he BLEW UP A PLANET HOLY SHIT
