What other options do you have?

nods. Tired of having good internet with a crapshoot as to when it will go on the fritz

Qwis, the option is going back to the DSL I had before that took them days to fix if it did go out (which was blissfully less than Roadrunner)

Our cable internet periodically goes out for no apparent reason due to a combination of wonky older network that is slooowly being upgraded and too much distance from the street, which degrades signal strength.

Nothing we can do about either except keep resetting the modem & router or waiting for the network-based issue to be resolved (usually lasts no more than an hour or two). DSL is a poor alternative out here.

Time Warner sound as bad as Virgin Media here in the UK... and my local cable company just got bought out by Virgin Media last week

Time Warner blows- I used them when I lived in the northeast.
