Of course if we're going to remake old 70's sci-fi shows, we'll need some cool retro fashions too!

BryonyConstantine: I've heard it mentioned a lot but I've never managed to see it. At least not yet.

re: UFO remake. There was this from a few years ago. I've heard some rumblings more recently, but can't seem to dig up linkage.

Seems to be an interest in many of the shows from that era, but whether anything will come of it, it's hard to say.

Also hard to say whether it would be watchable either, considering the awful Avengers and Thunderbirds remake movies.

I should check and see if UFO is available on Amazon Prime? (thinking)

I wasn't keen on the Thunderbirds remake. I prefer the original puppets and voices. I'd like to see the original Avenger shows cleaned up. I only remember The New Avengers with Joanna Lumley.

UFO does get shown now and then on UK TV satellite channels. I think it was another Gerry Anderson show.

BryonyConstantine: UFO was a Gerry Anderson show. And it appears to be available on YouTube (at least here in the US). UFO (Full Episode) - 01 Identified

I perked up when I heard the opening music on that video. It was great for its time. I still love it.

I'm looking forward to watching that later tonight! :-D

I've just watched a video about it, I'd forgotten that there were no happy endings. I was at primary school and just enjoyed the space age stuff. It was really going to be like that in 1980! (blush)

what sort of naming wizardry would be needed to avoid confusing The Avengers (formerly featuring John Steed) with those little projects Joss Weadon has been working on, the ones with the "puny god." ;-)

footpad: I've seen the latter referred to as Marvel's The Avengers. A bit awkward, but it makes the distinction.

Meanwhile, you have "The Avengers" (1961-69) and then "The New Avengers" (1976-77), so "The Avengers: The Movie We'd Like to Offer Our Apologies for Making" would have been appropriate.
