So, I'm considering doing a Psychology minor. I need 27 credits, 15 upper division, in Psychology. I've 16 lower division credits already, and will have 4 upper division after this term is over. Should I?

I've taken psy 100(intro/overview), psy 104 (intro to Industrial/workplace psychology), Psy 201 and 202 (general courses on psychology), and this term Im taking Developmental Psych (psy 311).

If I do, I'm thinking of taking PSY 439 Positive Psychology (Explores positive outcomes), Psy 461 Psychopharmacology (after I've had a few chem/bio classes, and psy 451 Behavioral Nueroscience

They have a psy 492, Psychology of Women, but I just don't think i'm qualified to take that.

Yes! You learn so much to help you understand yourself and others. Super beneficial in every field.

wait isn't jesca a psych major??? 2 shrinks one baby

what's your major and what are your career goals?

Cellular/molecular Biology. My focus is a master's so I can teach college level, and I want to do research. If I can get into a PhD

I program I would like that. Otherwise I will double up with a second masters in chemistry and teach both fields. My bio major has equal

        Parts chemistry and biology.

At this point in going to be taking about 3 years more of classes for my bs.

is that including your potential psych minor? Can you accelerate your BS at all if you ditch that idea?

your long-term goals are VERY ambitious. I think instead of the minor, your time would be better spend pursuing undergrad research opportunities to make yourself competitive for graduate admission.

I agree. But 3 more courses over the next three summers. .. do you think that would cut in too much?

And yeah, 3 years with the minor. I doubt I could accelerate the major. I know I'll need practicum and RA/TAships. If I wanted a faster

Degree I could go general bio and skip about half the Chem courses and the physics classes... effectively cut out a year of school, but

        Where's the fun in that?
