At least she may be making a wizard friend?
LOL that is nice! she could totally use a friend
I'm trying to figure out something though, which is, she would have read Harry Potter books
well, I mean, not all of them; she'd have stopped after, like, the first three because she thinks the magical system in it is poorly written and illogical
I'm fine with her recognising anything/4th walling.
His name was mentioned in the first book but only once.
oh cool great! that's one of the challenges with WoD, all the cultural references of the real world exist
I doubt she'd have been paying enough attention
honestly, the magical system is the most inconsistent in the first book
not that magic in WoD is all that logical, but the sorcery she does is all academic based
/nod There are quite a few things you can pick apart in the books. XD
yay! your character seems really cool
Nah. Seems interesting so far.
she's, well, a very damaged character XD
because I'm a horrible person
as soon as the ST gives me permission to activate her bloodline, life is really going to get bad for her
she'll develope powers she can't control and legitimately go crazy when ever she uses the ones she has figured out already
but we're going to figure out a good way for her to stableize first, so that she stands a chance of coping
She may need a friend then.
well, this won't cross into the wake for a long time; the St wants me to wait several months before activating her bloodline
she doesn't actually have any friends in her canon game right now
the Bishop is too bus to bother with her, Father Murphy is always correcting her, Leonard terrifies her, and Lucian is trying to 'save' her from the Sanctified who he is convinced are holding her hostage
we talked the player out of his 'brilliant' idea to send people to rescue/kidnap her
on the basis that the Paladins would track him down and kill him
One of the Paladins though, Alexi, he's been really kind to her
we're trying to figure out a good reason for her to visit him
So she's an original character but there's a RP game for the canon?
right; sorta. WoD characters get counted as Original Characters more often than they get counted as Fandom Characters
basically, the canon game is made up completely of original characters
World of Darkness is a role playing game, like dungeons and dragons
I played a WoD character at the wake before, years ago,
So Jesse is from New World of Darkness, Vampire the Requiem
and more specifically, from Theatre of Roses in the Minds Eye Society, which is the game in Portland
I count anything that's happened to her In-Game in Portland as being her 'canon' material
I have control of what she does, but the ST has control of the setting, and all the other players have control over their characters, and the club has control over the over all rules
but I'm a content assistant for the ST in Portland, so I get a bit more say in plot than most players
the flip side being I get to do much much less with my character than they do
At least she gets to branch out at Wake too.
oh yeah! and it's even better because I used to play William Jesse Grant here (one of my most favorite OCs)
and ICly, Jesse is great, great grand daughter
the character concept for Jesse in Portland was based on William Jesse, though modified for her plot line in WoD
the original WOD concept for a William Jesse character would have had her as Daeva Septemi Carthian instead of Sanctified Ventrue Malkovian
but this is a much darker character with more stuggles to face
and whether Jesse grows up into a good guy or a bad guy is ultimately to be determined by the other Sanctified players
it's very very hard to stay alive as a good guy in WoD
the default reaction that most of her allies have to her kindness is to want to break her of it for her own good
