They both have redemptive arcs, to differing degrees.

Characters that tend to be underestimated.

Hector for his age, for example. Tony because his past ~indiscretions~.

Characters that tend to be animated in their emotions.

Not necessarily people who tend to talk with their hands but characters that have billboards for faces before they get it on lockdown.

And then there's Farkas.

Idk about him, he's just there.

He's my outlier.

Though he can be an asshole, too, to a degree.

He's like creed: He just showed up and you can't get rid of him.

So. Assholes. I like assholes.

It's true. He's fuzzy and takes up too much room.

The characters that I get stuck with tend to be...Well, the easiest way to put is not afraid of death.

Either because they've come awful damn close to it, or have actually died.

Huge reserves of resolve and will power. And nerves of steel.

That's another trait most of them share.

They also tend to have a hard time relating to other people on differing levels.

Tony's got a magnet keeping him alive and anxiety and ptsd.

Hector loses a leg and is crazy as a bedbug and something of an adrenaline junkie.

Farkas is a werewolf.

Just...You know. Stuff like that.

I also apparently tend to be a sucker for the Badass Mustache trope.

Idk what that says about me.
