For those that don't know the vernacular, kiss the gunner's daughter meant to be strapped over a gun on the deck and whipped.

Sailing lingo will forever amuse me, especially pirate lingo.

OKAY so I have. 42 tags.

Much better than I was thinking it would be.

I think I'm gonna eat before I get started, but I wanted to go ahead and toss this up.

Also, let me tell you pirate stories, before dinner, plurk.

Because I know some good ones.

There was once a group of pirates that thought it would be a brilliant idea to steal this settlement's cows.

And sell them elsewhere.

Their first clue that it would end badly should have been the fact that the people in the settlement pretty much just let them walk off with the cows and load them on the ship.

So these cows were on the ship.

And got sea sick. Which meant they pooped. A lot.

Now, I don't know who's been on tall ships, but even the really big ones are fairly cramped. So that was a lot of cow poop in a very small area. And what could the pirates do, I mean.

They were at sea.

This one particular Navy captain, who's name escapes me at the moment, was after this particular ship. And when he closed in on them the smell from the pirate ship was apparently so bad.

He just let them go.

anyway, that's my story and now food and then tags.
