In which there will be much babbling about Hector Barbossa and how stupid he is.

why are you all lurking i don't understand
Why, indeed.
T MINUS FIFTEEN AND COUNTING GET YOUR MUTE CLICKING FINGERS READY
Randomly, while looking for a sock pattern not born of satan's asshole, I found
these gorgeous things and have dubbed them the Hector socks.
Because those are some ridiculously ornate socks. I must have them.
Space. The Final Frontier
Because he really is just a terrible person.
He really is. Wtf hangs a kid.
Right? Like. That kid doesn't know any better?? Since he was clearly raised as a pirate??
I mean, if you wanted unredemptive evil, there it is.
Groves is my favorite.
Fuck Mercer. I hate him too.
Which is why I don't understand why that person on tumblr likes them so much???
SCREE HECTOR
Hector
Ahaha, when they're creeping through the tunnels.
never not be amused he has to duck down the farthest, jsyk.
He is.
Also, him and Elizabeth. He's not playing up his accent.
Oh God, his doubletake. Hector your face.
Poor Hector. Elizabeth and Will just fucking up his plan errywhere.
Right? How badly does he want to throw them overboard?
Oh man, I'm pretty sure if he could have right then he absolutely would have.
Oh wow, I never realized how close Mercer's shot was to Hector.
Oh God, that dude and his toe. Every fucking time I cringe.
dslkfj No, that's the worst part.
I can't with that I can't.
Ugh, Davy Jones the woobie. ;3;
He really is, though. ;n;
Hey Beckett, you got that five o' clock shadow, asshole. /twitches
Oh God, my favorite part.
Hector's cackle is my favorite thing in the whole movie.
I love everyone freaking out and he's just c8
lbr, he purposely didn't tell anyone what was going on, just to see them freak out.
Also, dat parallel with Elizabeth.
Except this time he does touch her and smoosh.
Oh no, Jack.
Noooooo, Jack in the Locker is the worst
I have so many Jack in the Locker feels, I can't.

I'm emotionally compromised.
Me, too.
Ugh ugh ugh I hate seeing the Pearl like that.
She really needs to be careened tho. Dat hull. So dirty.
We need to do a new thread about them all in the Locker, because I'm. I can't.
Like, a moment between the two of them in the Locker.
Because, I just. I want Jack to admit out loud that he doesn't think that they're real.

Oh Jackbb.
Because I mean
Jack did you clean her at all when you had her?
Wow, you know, Will is really kind of. Aggressive toward Barbossa. Like really.
"You shot me." Hector pls.
"I see my ship right there." They are children.
"Must be a tiny little thing behind the Pearl." lbr, they could have gone at it right there if they had the popportunity.
If someone hadn't interrupted right then they'd still be going at it.
Pintel. He really should have known better.
And Jack in this scene too, I just.
You can see him click off.
Ugh, and how Hector looks at him before he goes with everyone else.
He really does click off, though. He is completely and utterly just. Gone.
I wonder, now, where he's gone? What is he even thinking about??
Hector put that ax down pls.
Oh my God, Hector's face when he realizes Jack was really going to shoot him gets me every time.
Man, though. Imagine how pissed Tia Dalma would be if Jack did shoot him???
Ugh ugh, no. The talk is the worst.
O-oh, he really doesn't look away until "The world used to be a bigger place". leave me here
And Jack's avoiding eye contact the whole time.
Like, he legit doesn't want to hear a word Hector is saying. But he listens, anyways.
Ugh ugh ugh Hector trying to follow.
Hector is in such Big Brother mode after their talk, though??? Like ?????
That's his pirate punching bag, thank.
And tbf, Jack is kind of super out of it, too? Like, he just came back from the dead, he's not himself yet. And Hector's the only other person who would get that.
I mean, Hector's a giant dick, but he does have honor??? Like you don't kick a dude when he's still twitchy.
Too, he's the only one there who has any idea at all what resurrection is like.
Right? And I can only imagine the feeling of trepidation when he sees Sao Fang and Beckett's ships?? Like. He's only just holding himself together around his crew, let alone more people.
People who don't even like him. People who want him dead. People who he has to be at his best game to beat.
Like, no wonder his first instinct was to hide behind Hector??
And, too, you have Hector who, when Jack shoots himself over by cannon fire, when he realizes Jack is just fine up there one the quarterdeck he has that look like.
Hector was actually worried about him.
He was really, actually worried about him.
And it was obvious, and he got caught.
He got caught red handed.
It kills me, because even after everything, he's still ready to be friends again.

No, don't do that.
But, I mean. They don't really fuck with each other after that???
Think about it. Other than that little jab about shooting him, he and Jack act more like rough-housing best friends than two people who were ready to kill each other slowly a year before.
They have their little verbal tiffs, but that's just them.
And aside from Jack being ready to shoot Hector, like. They're really fine with each other after that point?? Like. The actual hostility between them is gone, and they're just arguing because they don't know
That's just how they communicate.
Like, the tension between them is gone.
Yep. And it never really returns?
Like, not with any real seriousness or heat? There are moments, but other than that?
In CotBP, there was 10 years of bad blood between them. And every moment was them fucking each other over to try and get the upper hand because they were so ready to rid themselves of the other.
But now, in AWE, that's all in the past? They've both gotten their revenge and they've gotten their little jabs out of the way, and things are square between them.
They're almost starting over??? Like, they can't actually start over because they know each other too well for that, but all the bad blood between them is gone.
Nothing to do but just go forward.
Exactly. What happened was in the past, and we've got bigger things to deal with at the moment.
Holding on to a grudge after all is said and done would just be stupid and a waste of time.
And, like. Hector got his revenge for Christophe, and I think Hector knew Jack would be after him? And so he was determined to kill Jack before Jack could kill him, because he knew it was coming.
And then Jack got his revenge for being mutinied upon, and like. Once you've had your revenge, that's it???
I have to wonder if Hector actually thought he'd come out on top there at the end, and I really don't think he did, tbh.
That he knew Jack was going to win??
Not that he knew Jack was going to win but.
Even if he had won there would literally still be no closure there.
He was so far gone at that point, he kind of had to die to chill the fuck out, I think.
Death was a thing that had to happen.
That's a good point??? Like, I mean. He'd already gotten his revenge at that point, killing Jack would kind of be overkill?
He'd have never have rested easy, I don't hink?
I can really, actually believe tha.
Like, he had planned to retire???? I'm laugh.
He'd have either gone downhill really fast, or ended up going right back to pirating, but I think he'd have always been restless?
He'd be so bored??? Without Jack there to challenge him??
Because, lbr. No one can challenge Hector like Jack can.
There would come a day where he'd be like oh, if only Jack was still around.
Hector's face when Calypso does her little thing.
Help, I'm emotionally shattered.
His whole look is just this. Christ not again look of despair, I can't.
Ugh ugh and Jack watching the whole thing help.
He does watch the whole thing.
I can't.
I'm certain that's when he realized what Hector's real motivations were.
Pretty much, yeah, I can believe that.
Like, because, Hector had been all, "Brethren Court!" from the beginning, and Jack just kind of accepted that. But then he sees Hector and Tia Dalma talking - and I'm sure knows who she really is - and I
mean. The Pearl's a big ship, but she's not that big. You can't hide something like that for long??
Yeah, secrets aren't secrets for long.
"And I owe them all money." Hector's face.
Because of course he does.
And idec, no one can tell me different, Hector is totally a mother hen over Ragetti and Pintel.
I just.

He's such a stupid softie.
"And trim that scraggly beard." That look Hector gives him. "You're not helping, Jack."
"Don't encourage them, Jack."
Oh no, Teague.
Teague
I love him so.
I still stand that Moma Jack is Pirate Queen, no exceptions.
Absolutely, I will accept nothing else.
Moma Jack, some badass African woman who could hold her own against Teague. Who could give him a run for his money.
I love how the whole first to the finish thing is an entire conversation between Hector and jack.
I just.
Like, wow. Let's just have a whole conversation and ignore the other 4 people just standing around.
Yep.
"Too long me fate's not been in my own hands." Hector no.
To a lover. Fuck Christ Hector I am so done with you.
Jack is going to die whenever he sees that part.
He will literally just
fsklf Hector will straight up jump him.
...
never be over it being Hector's colors.
They're Hector's colors
Maybe. I should write a thing about that.
Because there has to be a reason.
Oh God, that wedding, Hector pls.
Oh no
He is so stupid.
I would say my inner Jack is slightly peeved that Hector did the wedding, and not him, but he wants so little to do with Elizabeth, I think the point is moot??
I wonder if Jack realizes that's kind of her recognizing Hector as the Pearl's captain.
Will, no.
Uuuuuugh
Oh no Jack and Hector working together I can't.
The end of this movie kills me

I am so emotionally compromised.
I'm just. I'm dying because the end of this movie pretty much has Jack and Hector working together and becoming friends again??? But then, at the very end, they simultaneously screw each other over.
That's how you know they're pirate bffs.
Hector's eyeroll when he realizes Jack's taken the middle of the map I'm done goodbye.

The best of the trilogy.
Legit, don't care what anyone else says. This is the best of them.
