our church had received a letter (sent out apparetnly to everyone in the neighbor hood)

about a proposed rehab center to be built in the area that needs a zoning permit and is having a meeting this month for getting permission

the letter was all about how this is inviting drug addicts and violent criminals into the neighborhood

I had read it and found myself wanting to call the author and say that as a christian, I found her 'christian' objections to beharmful and unkind

I resisted because that'd be rude

well, the worship leader today had found the letter in the office

and he brought it with him to the service and he 'read' from it

and by read it, I mean he held it up and read off when the meeting was and what the meeting was for

but intstead of the author's urging people to come out in force against the rehab center

he urged anyone who cared or was concerned, for or against, to go to the meeting and participate

I am so proud and graced ot get to work with people like this
