The only things that make me a little sad is it's pretty long so I'm going to need to super poof it and that the waist ribbon is free floating so it a. Requires a second person to tie it

Well, I think so long as you have someone tie it solidly in the back you should be okay. You could always possibly adjust the straps too.

I tend to adjust the straps for length on mine, then everything else falls into place.

I put it on the last buttons and it still hits slightly below the knee
