so meshers, I get that mav block error on a piece of jewlery when I shrink it down to human size and upload, but it uploads just fine at "gigantic everyone will make fun of it when it first loads" size
what's that about? It's the exact same mesh/linkset, just shrunk down in blender, but it won't upload then
I often put a box around it when i upload it.. that seems to help. You know an extra bounding box (so you can make it nice and small in SL) with an extra material to make it invisible
for that you gotta link/merge the box with the item in your program though
there's a thing where it gets angsty on things too small/too close together, probably that. if large works, upload big and just shrink it down to normal size in edit, you're not locked in to upload size.
(even on rigged mesh- you still get to choose what size it reads without the rigging if you scale it on the ground)
yeah, that's what I did so it will be giant when it first pops in. Oh well. It was all big enough not to need the invisible box, but I've done that before Chandni, I know what you mean.
good to know about the angsty. lol It's a chain with a lot of small links, so that could absolutely be it.
ReneeF: it doesn't HAVE to be big when it first pops in. rez it on the ground. scale it. it will be that size.
OH, I thought you were just telling me it didn't have to stay the size I uploaded it at, which I knew. That's awesome. thank you!
you can also MAYBE scale it BACK down in the last uploading tab, may or may not work with your issue, so you can scale to x10 in 3d program and .1 in the uploader. (that MIGHT still give the error though)
(if this is rigged though, that's probably a bad BAD idea)
it's not rigged, but it's already in world so I'll just rez it on the ground and fix it. Good to know for next time though. ty!
I went through this with some rings I was making a few months ago. The box did the trick
I learned that often a mesh gives the mav block missing when it has no physics shape. When i loss a simple cube as physics it works
