It's a really long story so let me copy over my rant
I'm a part time employee, so I'm supposed to work 29-30 hours a week. I work 4 days a week, so they're supposed to shorten one of my shifts by two hours.
It used to be that on Thursdays, I would go in at 2:30, but since my new semester started, I was being scheduled til 7:15 on Mondays so I could go home and eat and sleep at a decent time
since I wake up for school at the crack of dawn.
Then, about a month ago, one of my supervisors asked if I could stay until 9:15 on Monday so my coworker could leave early. I said that was fine, I didn't really mind.
Except for when I checked my schedule, I saw that the following two weeks had been changed to 9:15 as well. When I asked my supervisor about it, he said that my coworker had switched her days off to
Sunday and Monday, and so he could no longer schedule me to end at 7:15 unless there were six people that day.
Since we'd recently been short staffed, I didn't really mind. He said it would only be for the next few weeks, and then it should go back to normal. I said fine, and worked 32 hour weeks for the past
few weeks because I figured they needed the extra people.
Well, again, yesterday, I checked the schedules. Today, next Monday and the Monday after that, six people were scheduled. But even though there were six people, I was still scheduled til 9:15.
I talked to my supervisor and he told me to talk to the team lead, that he didn't answer questions like that anymore.
So I talked to her and asked her to change my schedule for today and the following Mondays. She said she would, and that was that.
Well, today I looked at my schedule and there was no change. I also found out that the team lead had called in today, and one of my coworkers had been called in to work early to supplement the two
call offs from this morning. So, that left us with five this evening, and me working a 32 hour week. Again.
They called in my coworker to come in early, even knowing that I have school tomorrow and I would've appreciated being able to leave early, and I have never turned down an early shift.
Not only that, but I don't mind working 32 hour weeks cause it gives me extra money, but it also means I'm working full time hours with no benefits and no PTO accumulation and that really upsets me
Ok end rant lol. Sorry, I typed that up in text earlier and figured I might as well just paste it over
One thing that also pisses me off is that anything above 30 hours is considered full time. I've asked to become full time before but they say I'd have to work an entire extra day for it to be worth
to them. And when I need extra hours they won't give them to me because I'm part time.
And yet they can have me working full time at their fucking leisure
yeeeaaaah that's bull shit
And then of course the first member I have through the lane bitches and says "this doesn't benefit me at all" and I just told him "then go to the back of the line" and I walked away
OMG I love that you said that HA
It's okay, I'm just really frustrated
Haha you know me and my quips Morgan
your quips make everything just a little bit better. I'm sorry you've had a rough day though sweetie /snuggles
It's ok. Thanks for reading my rant. /snug
