She just was released to my care at home. Thankfully, she didn't have to stay overnight in the vet's office.
I caught this early so she didn't have to stay for 24 hr observations...apparently they are only used to seeing beardies on the brink of death.
She's still gasping for air, but it's not as frequent or as loud as before. She had two injections, one for a mucus thinning med and the other for the antibiotic.
What caused the little fluid on the lungs? Probably how she drinks her water...she slings it everywhere...or the fact that the timer I tried to set didn't work quite right.
So, she was not in proper lighting the day before yesterday. I'll be changing her lights manually from now on. I just have to set my phone to remind me and wake me up.
I think it deals with how humid it's been here...and the temp flux that has been happening for a few days this month. That's my guess. I have her under a heat lamp, though.
Her tank is on the warm side, so I am keeping her heated at least.
I feel like a bad parent. I really do. I can't say it any other way...but I did drive about 45 minutes to a Vet ER just to get her looked after and at.
I fought with the personal demon of asking Mom for money, I tried to get a credit for her care...well, I wasn't approved, for sure. But, it's all done with and I have some funds to spare.
Let's just hope something else doesn't happen? Which...is like hoping for a pig to be gold plated and flying...but we'll see...
Aw, I'm glad you caught it early and she's on the mend! Don't feel like a bad parent, these things happen <3 You're a great mommy to her!
Okay, tank today isn't on the warm side...so I'll have to do something about that. Great.
eep. late, but seconding this: don't beat yourself up for it!
you caught it, after all, and got it taken care of!
Yeah, I at least has the antibiotic all ready so I don't have to pay for it. They gave her the wrong treatment for this at the ER...doubtful I'll go there again.
