think there would be a point at which the speeed would make the tennis ball combust in earths atmosphere

and that speed would have to be exceeded to escape trajectory

but due to very low mass, the lack of momentum in face of friction will decelerate it rather quickly

well we still have to plate it with some sort of metal for it to work with a rail gun, right?

it'd probably be better to just put a metal ball bearing inside the tennis ball for a rail gun or other linear accelerator
