Is it wrong to charge the same price for a transferable as the copyable version?

I had someone asking for a transfer version of something I made so they could give it away for Christmas and they were a little perturbed that I said it was the same price.

I didn't think it was bad before now, I always just charged whatever the regular price was, but now I'm not so sure

depends what it is, but if you visit stores that offer copy x trans only product , copy always costs more

if it's a wearable, same price is totally okay for me (and it's how i've always handled it when ppl asked for transferable versions)

if it's a rezzable you'd want to keep many copies around (like a tree or a chair) i can see the reasoning behind having the transfer version less expensive,

That makes sense, I never really thought of that before. I think just because I don't generally offer transferable versions I just always kept it the same price.

I think that if you're offering two products in the store, one copy one trans, the trans version should be cheaper. BUT, if they're specifically asking you to MAKE a trans version as a favor to them, it

should be the same price.

(I think of it as the no copy version being cheaper than the copy version, I don't think of it in terms of transferable. But if they're looking to get something as a gift for someone, they shouldn't
Miyani

expect to pay less for it than if they were getting it for themselves.

Don't you have a vendor system that offers gifting option? In any case, When I used to offer only transfer stuff, I charged more for copy (it wasn't also as easy to change permissions on stuff,

you has to go item by item, animation by animation etc and change it manually.)

but now I just keep the same price. :/

Yeah, I do offer the gifting option through the vendor, but like Shae said, they want to be able to box it up so they can physically give it to the person.

ScarletCSkylaC: In that case, i would still expect to pay the same price for copy or trans.

Ok you have a electronic way for the. To gift the item and they are contacting you for a SPECIAL REQUEST so same price. Personally I HATE paying more for copy versions and think
Brennie

No matter the permissions it should cost the same.

I refuse to pay a higher cost for copy items. I always go to another store if they do that.

Ok, if i can underatsnd and i do build a bit, you can make items copy/mod/trans (full perms), copy/mod, copy/trans and mod/trans.
ZZBOTTOM says

Normally a no copy/mod/trans should be the same as a copy/mod/no trans, a copy/trans should be more expensive and a copy/mod/trans even more.

If you have to go changing the perms for them specifically then I say no discount. Your time really does have a value to it.
