I'm watching a documentary about this family who is building a 90 thousand sq. ft. home and the more they talk to them, the more miserable they seem.
I think that for rich people and for poor people and everyone in between it is the same... they can be happy.. but do not have to
i have seen people without money see very happy with their life.. finding their happiness in love, friendship or wonders of life... and the other way around..
You always think that the more money you have, the happier you'll be. But they just seem so sad.
They can afford not to be
Nope. I think the opposite.
Nah, money doesnt ensure happiness, it ensures possessions
I think it depends on what they do with the money and what else they have, particularly the intangibles, in their lives.
Wealth does not necessarily make life easy, but poverty makes life difficult.
Really depends. Sometimes when you have too much money people cling to you, so there will be friends by interest and all. Human interactions that are real is what makes people happy, imo.
it makes life easier, but not better.... but it also brings a whole new set of issues
are you watching the Queen of Versailles?
ad_dy: i was thinking the same thing, lol
that house was ridiculous
Like, one of their kids sleeps with the nanny cause he feels safer in a smaller room. It just made me sad
I think they're happy as long as everybody else isn't happy
I'd be happier with more money.

but I think it's when you try to keep up with the Jones' is when you start to become unhappy. Like building super big houses having 5000 cars, brat kids etc.
I'd spend all my more money on traveling and would live small and reasonable.
I remember seeing a snippet of an interview with Ivanka Trump where she said someone accosted her and asked her what it was like to never be miserable and her response was excuse me? My parents are divorced!
I don't think money makes people happier. Having enough money to guarantee the bills are paid, and there is food on the table definitely adds to quality of life but you only need so much to achieve that.
nope. my mom takes care of a man who is a multi millionaire and has dementia, his wife put him in a home and doesnt give 2 fucks about it. some tiny little shit box room .
his kids never visit him and his wife travels to a few places in the world every month. comes every other month to drop off a few things - thats it
and from what ive heard he was a real douchecanoe and a drunk before he was diagnosed so thats why the kids hate him
Nope, because they're probably always working for more $ which which leaves no time to enjoy the small things that makes life worth living.
