(Does not include re-watches in theaters or anything seen at home.)
I paid for roughly 10 of those (initial watches), got into 9 for free, and was paid for.. most of the rest.
do you do that freelance or do you have a regular gig?
katsudonburi: Sort of both? It's technically freelance these days, but I get screenings every week p much (and have worked up to 8 in a week).
damn, that's pretty awesome.
I tried out for a reviewer slot with Strange Horizons but nothing ever came of that.
I did press for awhile in Boston, which was cool, but now I work on the flip side of it - I'm the publicity person running the screenings that press/trade/etc go to. It's a great gig and worth looking into.
oh wow, that's really cool!
I think you might have just won the 'coolest job out of anyone I rp with' trophy.
Thanks! It's wonderful and I'm really fortunate to have it as income between projects, even if it's not by any means livable wage, haha.
(But that's why I'm fortunate to make good money on projects.)
what other kind of stuff are you working on, project-wise?
If you don't mind me being curious.
I work in film production normally. The industry's a bit crap where I'm living now though, hence planning to move to NYC later this year.
(And then I do freelance with Disney/Marvel, Sundance Film Festival, the Utah Film Commission etc. It's p random.)
Haha, thanks. It's fun! I'm fortunate to be in a situation where I can do all these crazy things. c:
seriously. That's so awesome.
Okay, being a little nosier if I can, what do you do in production?
(Personally, I have... held a camera during interviews. Because I was the tallest person out of the crew. My qualifications are stellar.)
I work in production department, 2nd 2nd AD and key pa mainly, though occasionally I work as assistant to talent or the like.
I haven't worked on anything big though, so in the grand scheme I'm still a PA, haha.
1. That's awesome
2. You're coming my way? :3
that's still super awesome!
redconfession: omg I forgot you live there! Yeah, I'm looking to move in June-ish. We'll def have to hang out when I get out there.
