I got the package in today. Initial thought was that this dress would be on par with Tripp Wear from Hot Topic. You know what I'm talking about: scratchy lace, horrible materials...bad construction.
But it's not. I mean, you can tell by the stock photo that it really shouldn't look so good.
I mean, I seriously was thinking it would be some bad thing that you get from the clearance rack in the back of the store with the things missing, seams missing, etc.
But what I got was completely different from even what the website showed. Bodyline lied to me.
I am not complaining, I am actually happy about this considering it's put my faith in ordering from them a little higher.
I got soft lace, nice piping/seam work (well...nicer than what I thought at least), and the buttons down the front actually match up.
I will post pictures after all of this because plurk is being a demon.
I got the black and white sailor dress with matching headbow. Admittedly, the headbow is dorky looking.
But the little tie in the front unbuttons, the little portion under the collar with the embroidered B on it unsnaps and can be folded over, and it has a zipper down the side.
The two side straps actually unbutton in the back to be able to zip the dress up. The buttons are plastic, and the materials used for the detail work is nice.
The material is a thinner cotton...but it means it holds a petticoat very well. I wish I could upload pictures.
OH HEY PLURK IS LETTING ME UPLOAD A PICTURE!
Here is what the stock photo shows:
I mean, the buttons don't line up, it looks like it can't hold a petticoat, and the lace doesn't really give you much to imagine. Crappy stock image is crappy.
This is what I got...the package:
The headbow:
Which the stitching isn't too terrible on. I'm just unsure why the headband is on there uneven.
This is the dress, folks. It has ample room for a petticoat. The fabric isn't too thick to hold one, and it does flair out really nice.
I'm actually overjoyed about this. It means that Bodyline isn't as much of a crap shoot as I really have started thinking it was.
