They never last me more than 2 years. I think it's time I give in and get a desktop.

Yeah this is what was happening to my laptops. SL just eats them.

I've had I think 5 laptops since I was 18...which is when I started SL. It's just bad.

I've never had a laptop. Which sounds weird to say, but I've just never really needed one. I have had to replace my video card twice and finally had to get a whole new machine last year, but that doesn't

seem so bad considering I started SL over 8 years ago.

yeah between SL and CAD software they really don't hold-up very long. I've gone through a lot of them as well. Had my current one a year and it's been a bit unhappy lately.

i've had my Alienware 3 years, i just need to replace the video card now

^^ same as Misha, I've had my Alienware laptop 3, nearly 4 years. Just replaced the HDD with an SSD.

other than that it's held up great
