.... so it's canon, is what you're saying
SO MANY THINGS MAKE SENSE
and it makes her more of a special sparkle sue which, honestly, fits with most everything else about her
FITS LIKE A GLOVE, THAT DOES
Weta guys who worked on the FX and props and all that good shit. They were just vigourously nodding and really 'yes we already agree on this' when i brought it up.
only because i was like: MAYBE ONE DAY we'll see the simarillion made. not necessarily by PJ, but definitely Weta
and they were like: WELL U KNOW. IT WAS ALREADY KINDA IN THE FILM- and i was like: U MEAN TAURIEL RIGHT and they were like: YEAH GIRL
really doubt pj will ever get his hands on silm
and would be surprised if the film rights were sold anytime at all soon
and yeah no pj very much just like apparently didn't want to film the hobbit so he filmed the hobbirilion
IT'S ACTUALLY ALMOST A PITY
despite the way he butchered the hobbit, imo
because honestly pj's way of making everything as overly dramatic as is actually physically possible would actually probably enhance silm
it's got Those Kinds of stories
ones it'd be hard to make more dramatic than they actually are and the more dramatic they got made the closer they'd be
like can you imagine the oath and the first kinslaying being in any way anything but enhanced
by just cranking the drama up to 27
finwe's death and the theft of the silmarils and the murder of the trees
like could you make that more dramatic, like honestly
honestly i could see him doing it
but it'd probably work so well with the story that it'd be the right choice
like seriously man, for over dramatic elves, hit up silm
oh i just mean i could see him making it more dramatic
but not necessarily in a good way
yeah no but that's the thing like
how would it be in a bad way
i dunno man maybe i'm wrong
i doubt i'll find out either way though
I HAD SUCH TRUST IN HIM AFTER LOTR
fjkahsfkljawklejahsfdlkajsdfhla
really though it would do a great deal to explain the way that she is both good at and yet still ruins everything
Red hair? Check? Disaster gene? Double Check.
meh I'd buy the theory more if one, all the rest of Mirkwood wasn't similarly colored and two, if Tolkien had said that only Feanorians had red hair. I know it was a Big Thing but I don't think s'exclusive
The red was unusual for the Noldor, but it never got mentioned among the other branches.
Kinslaying inclinations? Check
Explains why Thranduil does not want her with Legolas?
Explains why she's banished instead of jailed or court-martialed or stripped of rank?
I mean obviously Nerdanel's family doesn't have a monopoly on red hair, but it makes sense in other ways
