and I very much prefer sock weight yarn over everything else, even for scarves & hats. I can't stand worsted weight or chunky; I hate working with it and don't particularly like how it looks.

The acrylic stuff I bought when I was learning is what I use to teach, but for projects to make & keep it seems like I"m always buying alpaca something
