My character, previously called Joins in the Song, completed her challenge for Fostern and got announced last game

she's child of gaia, but the eldest galliard is a Get of Fenris

he's the one who named her

he's also her mentor and has been trying to teach her as much as possible before he gets killed, since he's fairly old, has loads of battlescars, and the BDS in the area are specifically trying to kill him

we had an awesome scene a while back where he said that she has the potential to be the leader that he could never be

My character had been traumatized (2 temp derangements) from using Mindspeak on a BSD during an interrogation and there was concern that she a) was falling to the wyrm and her mind was breaking

the derangements were phobia of gaian garou and phobia of get of fenris, so she has to succeed on tests in order to do anything other than flee away from Thorfinn

and to make it even worse, the BSD she had interrogated was Thorfinn's son's packmate and had inflicted on her very vivid imagery/suggestions that obviously Thorfinn is the best mating option

Well, the ragabash had told Thorfinn that Joins was acting really weird since that introgation and the eldest theurge told him that her mind was breaking under the pressure of using Mindspeak too much

So Thorfinn cornered her so we could talk

And the only way she could figure to prove that she hadn't fallen to the wyrm was to Mindspeak link with him and show him the memories of the introgation

So the St and us went to the side and we ran this memory exchanging scene

after everything was explained, Thorfinn went on to share some of his memories

in particular, his memories of his grandfther, who had been a get of fenris galliard and had been the alpha of the sept before the BSD tore everything down

Thorfinn had been forced by the war with the BSDs from an early age, including years of being their prisoner and used as mating stock

and he knows himself well enough to know that he's a wardog, not a leader, that he lacks the empathy needed to lead people in times of peace as well as times of war

but that he thinks she has it, and that he sees his grandfather in her and that he thanks Gaia everyday that he was given this chance to train another galliard (we're the only 2 in the area)

and that he knows he won't survive this war, but he's going to make her into the leader the sept will need when the war is over

over all it is this really cool dynamic between one of the oldest characters and one of the youngest

so, the name he gave her, relates to her being there as he's nearing death, and she is singing his song at the gates of valhalla
