I only got to play a little last night
but I'm so excited to play for a few hours after work
however, I did get far enough to hear this song!!!
such a nice soothing atelier theme
anyway, just wanted to make a quick plurk to ramble about it during my break at work to unwind
we are doing the most repedetive boring testing at work today -_-
IT'S CUTE SO FAR, the VAs for both the girls are great
Don't make me want to purchase an Atelier game, the last one I tried, I bombed at it so bad...
the one with long dark hair actually has a surprisngly deep voice for an atelier heroine?
oh nooo, you didn't like it much?
ALSO i heard that a bunch of people's copies are having some bad bugs so i hope yours doesn't :c
yeah, I heard that too : ( aparently the worst of it is at level 40?\
we'll see, I think the main mechanic that causes the problems can be sort of avoided
I'M JUST SO BAD AT IT. I got Totori+ on my vita and... what am I doing
I don't know what it was, but Totori kicked my ass
Wait so it might not be just me?
Rorona did too, but at least I played it a second time and did better during round two
atelier games can be so buggy, guys why....
mm, it might not just be you. I found Meruru to be muuuch easier in comparison to totori
i remember my original rorona froze on me like twice
but that might just be me, because I find free roaming games harder?
and totori has a lot of roomto explore
which causes you to accidently waste time, if your me
aldkgh okay, break over, need to run! but I'll be back to ramble mor ein an hour ^
I just don't quite understand... progression. I'm on a time limit but what am I supposed to do?
i have to hold my breath with rorona plus because sometimes it just seems like it's gonna freeze too....
also yeah totori is pretty difficult in some ways and then easier in others
for me the kicker in totori was that there's a fucking mandatory boss and i was always terrible at battling in these games because i wanna do other shit
honestly if totori is giving you trouble because you're not sure what to do, rorona is the better one to start with
because rorona is more structured. the point of that game was she had assignments she had to do every three months for three years (or else she loses her shop/home)
so it taught you the system along the way while you're trying to meet the goal of each assignment
so once you got to totori, the freedom to sort of be whatever sort of adventurer/alchemist you wanted was a bit more welcome
Sounds like a plan. How is Meruru?
(until they go HEY BEAT THIS MANDTORY BOSS OR ELSE YOU GET A SHITTY ENDING at which point i'm like "oh god fucking damnit fuck you I WAS TRYING TO BECOME THE BEST ALCHEMIST EVER FUCK")
meruru is sort of blur to me because it was a few years ago i played it and i was soured by the ending since it was supposed to be the "wrap up" for the arland triology
but iirc it was like a happy medium
there was more structure and clearer goals again (make your kingdom RADICAL) but still more freedom than rorona
but that game is overloaded with fanservice so i can't really see it being enjoyable if you didn't play the other two
HMMM. I will have to think about it.
or well. it still would be but there's so much in there for old fans
like so many characters come back that were in rorona but not in totori and after a while it starts to feel like a little much
still no lionela though, god fuck you gust
it feels very focused on a whole "last hoorah for this universe!" thing that it doesn't really hit the mark on the "satisfying farewell" part
(which i still feel is why that extra scenario in rorona plus was added but i digress)
also yeah yeah first playthroughs are always rough, because you're just getting your bearings
and the game sort of. gives you a simple explanation of its system but doesn't explain the more complex parts? like i've been playing these for years and am only realizing a bunch of stuff now
but if you make yourself some rad ass equipment and whatever other types of items that carry over your second playthrough becomes a lot easier and you can do a whole lot more
