looks cool in this sample
I was thinking purple, but they were sold out
the price dropped 100 dollars, so I think they're trying to get rid of all the pens since it was a limited run
you have to post some pics of using it
here is the green one, i shall take a picture once I write something nice.
I'm worried I might spring the nib, that is what all the reviews say 'careful with the extra flessible nib, it springs!'
it looks kinda similar to the pilot falcon in terms of flex, although i feel like mine flexes more than in that sample
yea, thats the same as the namiki falcon right?
it doesn't take tons of pressure to flex like an ahab, but i guess the nibs are prone to springing if you go too far. gourmet pens did a review with sbrebrown because they got a pen to review
yeah, the namiki/pilot falcon
you didn't say you got one! do you like it?
i loveeee it, writes like butter, i totally thought i posted about it! i've had it for awhile
sbrebrown and gourmet pens are lucky ducks
yeah, you know, i was just talking to someone who is interested in fountain pens, a lot of people say that it doesn't matter, steel or gold nibs, but i don't know, I really like every gold nib pen I have
and i can't say that about steel
it defintley feels more smooth
yeah, they have a huge pen collection and they seem to get pens to review, I don't know if they have to send them back after
so i bought a pelikan m400 at the start of the year, it is really smooth
and my bf got me a platinum 3776 with a cursive italic nib that i love drawing with, no flex, but you get a really fine cross stroke so you can turn the pen for thin lines
do you draw a lot with the namiki falcon?
i still want to get an italic nib fountain pen one day because you said that
its pretty much all i draw with now, i keep flipping between that and my lamy
i retired my ahab because it always gave me greif, haven't inked it up for awhile
you should take a pic of your whoel collection one day
it's getting a bit out of hand!
yeah, i drew with the ahab recently, but i just can't get into that pen either, i have to push it really hard for the flex
i have a sailor pen too, i think 45 degree angle? which is cool sometimes, but i don't use it much
that was my most recent doodle with my cursive italic nib
i mean, it's a bit extra to get it done, and you have to hold the nib right to get the sweet spot
but i can get these super fine lines. the other pen like this with silver accents is on sale from the guy that does the mods, which i think are 55 dollars?
and you can set it up so it writes with light writing
did you paint those broad strokes with a brush?
i did washes with a watercolor brush, all the lines are done in pen
i'll have to take a picture of the line comparison
your inks are always so pretty too
thanks, i have too many. i'm trying to just use what i have, but i always want to try another color.
i think at some point the pen collector guilt of not using all your pens sets in
yeah, currently i use most of my pens, minus a lamy and an ahab. I had two lamys and I gave one away
