He's just one of those patrons that never shuts up and he gets really mad when you tell him you can't talk, that you have work to do
and I mean he'd old and had health problems
and I used to wave his fines but I've waved over 30 dollars and enough is enough okay
but he flipped his shit at me when I told him he owed $10.25 (you can still check items out as long as your fine is 10 or less)
He was complaining about how he's old and it's hard for him to remember when things are due
then don't check shit out from the library
write it on your calendar
and my coworker was on break and he kept insisting that he'll talk to her and I was like she's gonna say the same damn thing
and at one point he was like "I'll just talk to Yracey, Tracey is nice. You're a... well... nah."
And I just looked at him and very calmly said, "I'm a what? Please tell me."
That shut him up for a few seconds, at least.
Then Tracey came back from break and I briefed her on what was going on and shocking she told him the same damn thing I had been saying all along
he just went off on me, like "why don't you call me when I have fines why didn't you tell me sooner"
...
Because you're an adult..?
if we called everyone that had fines we would be literally unable to do anything else all day

wow wtf
I have such a headache ugh
thank you, everyone
I don't even feel like making dinner...
What an absolute jerk.
He's just old and lonely. ANd kind of a jerk, yeah.
Old and lonely doesn't justify implying insults because you're doing your job.
I'm just so used to his behavior that it usually doesn't even bother me.
Mm. I have customers like that too....but some days it just is harder to handle. :<
dropkicks him out of orbit
so many nice people... thank you...
and yes, some days it's just too much. Today was definitely one of those days.
Oh, I did tell him about the fines I'd waved over the last year or so. He didn't care.
He seemed to think that because everything was returned, he shouldn't owe anything, even if they were returned late. Which is how most people react when I tell them they have fines.
