Such a move would severely harm costumer trust, something I doubt Apple would be willing to do.

Well ... Apple is a company with a super loyal base of consumers. Meaning, they can do whatever they want and get away with it, because no matter what, people will still purchase their stuff.

I really think that is utter BS. Perhaps the new system doesn't support the iPhone 4, but one should be able to downgrade back and keep using them.

Some people have too much money and must have the newest, coolest stuff there is. As for myself, I usually wait a year or two for the price to go down, or get refurbished stuff. Same quality, cheaper.

I have a Jolla. Like 1/3rd the price, total freedom in a million ways, way better OS.
