THE QUESTION: do I still make cookies, cupcakes and ethnic foodz for eid even though I am living alone? How much is too much food to give to your neighbors? I mean legitimately, how much is too much
cuz i could give them pounds of the food I normally make. That's the one good thing about having a mixed family, we get so many holidays to make so much good food for but my dog and I can't eat it all
it's too much.. if they ask about how to freeze it? or you could just knock on the doors of random neighbors.. or go zucchini-style and find unlocked cars to fill with food..
do you live somewhere with limited neighbors?
Maggiedoll: Well it's technically one family lol, but they have like 12 people I think who could possible eathe food (at least on t weekend)
I gave them a dozen cupcakes last week
I might as well make what I want and just walk it over to them
One of the lady's husband is Muslim so he'd appreciate it even more I bet
that's only one cupcake apiece. If you feel like cooking more you can totally foist it off onto them.
Yeah I will probably make my cookies too
pakoras, chicken biryani, henna cookies, cupcakes
but if you have a dog you walk, you can give food to anybody who ever pet your dog if you want to. if you onow somebody's dog, they're not a stranger!
Im so shy to approach people though!
then put a note on the food saying "from [dog's name]'s mommy," ring the doorbell, and run.
my next-door neighbor I know because he's a chatter, and I talked to the mother of the guy on the other side of him once when she wandered over to chat. everybody else I know by their dog.
there's neutrons mommy, blue's mommy, the guy with the yorkies... and these are people I see most days! for years!
i need to get out more lol
well you have a dog! use it! no people skills required, and very few dogs ever complain sbout being used for that purpose. hey, it's walks and attention...
I can't just strike up conversation with neighbours, but their dogs are easy! scratches and praise.. way less confusing than humans.
if you know the dog, you know the person. probably better than if it was the person that you talked to.
but point being, if it's more than the neighbors you know can eat, give it to anybody who ever pet your dog. close enough to knowing them, and people only turn down food if they want it too much.
