[Intro] Hello everyone! My name is Hayley. I'm just finishing up my Bachelors in Science of History. I enjoy all sorts of areas of history, but my favorites as Late Antiquity, the Roman Empire, the Mongol...
Empire, Medieval World History, The Byzantine Empire. Social aspect of history that I love are, agency/personhood matters slavery (I feel bad about that since it's a sad topic), childhood, inter-cultural...
relationships Vikings in the Middle East, the Silk Road, Western Europe and the Byzantine Empire. Daily Life, Popular Religion/magical practices and probably more stuff I'm missing.
My other BIG passion is writing, specifically novels, but I enjoy research writing too. I've been working on a novel since I was thirteen, set in 5th century Britain. The main character...
Riodan is the character I play on

. The novel is in it's second draft and I'm hoping to work on publishing it once I finish the second draft and get it edited.
I haven't been a part of an Rp game like Teleios before, but I really love it, and everyone has been very kind. It's been very nice. Thanks everyone
Wow you have a lot of interests!
Yep! I wish I had more time.

You ever been in a Reacting to the past classroom?
I've done re-enactment in the past. What's Reacting to the past classroom, that sounds really interesting.
It's AMAZING! It's a pedagogy in three main phases. In the pregame, students get prepped on the historical conflict, the main phase, students get roles and spend weeks running the class in those roles
in the way that the governing body of the time would be run. They have to come to decisions about the questions of the day using only references available to people in that time period.
Phase three is the post mortem, takes one-two class sessions tops, and is the teacher explaining, "Here is what you did, let's review why. Now here is what happened in history and how it differed.
This is why I STINK at history, but could explain the policies of Athens in 403BCE after the war with Sparta and the concerns over reestablishing democracy. I could detail how arguments about a flooding river
were connected to the mandate of heaven and the subtle war brewing among the advisors to the Wan li Emperor during the Ming Dynasty in China.
Oh my gosh that does sound amazing. I would love to do that or guide one of those. I've done modules that are like RPs senerios. We did one with the Guilded Age Miners and the Oregon Trail. They were really fun
Cool! If you do teaching, I can get you in contact with the people in charge.
My most recent work was teaching at a summer camp, but my degree is in history, but no teacher education cert stuffs sadly.
Does one have to have a teaching cert?
I can only make the intro if you're someone who might realistically be using it in classroom. :/ They've been swamped over the last several years and have been making entrance to their conferences
more limited, because even limiting it and charging they still get requests that put them over capacity.
If you were local, I could loan you my books... I have the professor and the students guides for most of the games I was involved in.
I'm Oregon north of Portland.
Yeah I feel kind of far away from everyone and everything lol.
