regarding a place that is 390k.
Dad: That is WAY more than I'm looking at. Why would you even consider this?
Me: what's 40,000 times ten again????
Also if he wants a place in Golden cheaper than that then I have some news for him
golden is NOT a cheap place to live, even if you want a tiny house
Right?! I saw a plot of land. Literally a dinky little half acre without a house going for about 100k
I am fine with finding an apartment and paying rent but he's convinced that paying rent to anyone is the stupidest thing ever and that a person should OWN property and not borrow it
Yet at the same time he wants a place that's the same price as his own house which is just around 220k I think? Which, for Colorado, is cheap af. Nothing goes for that anymore unless you're farther
away from the metro area than we are
I can just tell that this whole endeavor is going to piss me off. I'll probably just apply for Mines Park and hope that I'm done with it and buy a better place when I've got a higher steady income
whatever reduces your stress levels, man. mines park's pretty nice. i think it's a good in between from being in the dorms and being totally disconnected from campus
also would you be renting your place out after you graduate? if you think you'll leave golden after you're done, that is
That's the plan according to Dad. He's really into buying property right now. Always has been, really, but now he has a financial adviser that's backing him up. I have no idea where I might go after college
which is why temporarily paying money to someone was not a big issue to me. In fact, until I'm older I really don't give a shit if I'm paying rent
But dad wants to set up these properties that'll bring him extra income
I don't have to worry about this for a few months at least but jeez this really annoyed me
