I missed a new yoga class because of our stupid parking traffic problems! Just 6 minutes late and I couldn't get in. I don't blame the teacher, but I really wanted to try this new style.
Yin yoga involves holding poses for 3-5 minutes each, mostly on the floor with lots of props for proper positioning. It's slow and deep, apparently great for the fascia and tendons.
My professor said it's a great balance for more active practices. It uses time and gravity to release muscles rather than bodily force. It's pretty meditative too. She recommends once a week.
