and I chickened out starting them tonight, I think
(this is red, btw, for anyone who might be confused)
aww red! i'm glad! i hope they go well and are effective and everything is diamonds
hello welcome to my rl bullshit plurk
I hope that they will work out for you!
it's a good first step, even if it feels scary right now
and even though she picked one that is very low dosage and has minimal side effects, I'm still... alarmed
probably because the side effects could go any number of very opposite ways, and you don't really know how it's going to go until you do it
it can either be energizing or drowsy-making
it can either make you gain or lose weight
it can either increase or kill your sex drive
there are just a lot of uncertainties, and that is alarming to me
Most antidepressants are like that sadly. Is it an SSRI?
it you or stick i linked to crazymeds?
because that's absolutely my go to for like, easily relatable language and realistic discussion of side effects etc
and I don't know what this is considered?
thirding crazymeds, it helped me feel way better/more informed about mine!
man I cant believe I've never heard of it
people will be here for you however it goes! if she's a good therapist she'll be responsive if you want to switch meds i assume
both my counselor and this new doctor have been awesome
I really like this new doctor
not as much as my old one, but she's a good replacement
and she was actually the one who kept stopping to make sure I was okay with all the decisions we seemed to be coming to, wanting to make sure I felt like this was my choice
and said that she's trying to make this as easy as possible to change or stop meds if I want
sounds like very good signs to me
Ah yeah that's an SSRI, they're usually the kind they start you off on. And I'm glad you like your new doctor, that's important.
Side effects can be kind of weird at first but once you adjust they tend to disappear.
Yeah. SSRIs are a strange beast, but that's what Anne started me on (different type of SSRI, but yes), and I had virtually no side-effects.
I know it's different for everyone, but I hope it goes well!
(She also laughed at me like crazy when my libido shot through the roof, but that's Anne)
