today at gamestop this child asked me if we had a certain game and I said off hand "yes sir we do" because the name sounded like it was for a boy but I cringed cuz the kid looked kinda feminine so I was afraid
I had offended them or the mom but when I looked over the kid was like "finally! someone who calls me sir!"
the mom had given me a bit of a look so I went to correct but she said "no no, he's a boy" so idk
I gotta stop saying things like that but everyone in my store says "hey man how's it going" and "yes sir" so it's become havit
Gendering strangers can be tricky, I'm glad no one was offended. I do the same thing tho
