I'm trying to decide on a book to read while on the holiday week. I haven't read for leisure in over a year and I'm determined to get it back. The problem? Too many choices! (Русский)

Seriously, y'all. These aren't even all the books I own and they're all eligible to be read or reread. That's why they're out here of course.

I have many, many more books in storage, some hidden behind these on the shelf, more in a few other cabinets, a sizable Kindle collection and a library card. What to choose?

It doesn't help that I have just a week so I can't start a series or grab a super thick book in case I can't read it all this week.

You can keep reading after the week is over. (eyeroll)

Carebear_001: I do and they're the real ones! And an HP Lovecraft collection hidden behind the door frame, Rudyard Kipling horror stories, all the Sherlock Holmes stories and so many others.

Oooo! Need to get me more Lovecraft. I had one book. Hell if I know where it's at now... (annoyed)

Swamp_Daddy: Not with all the school reading I'm swamped with. Seriously, I know what I can do with my time and all my reading has been strictly scientific for years.

You can't spare 5 minutes each day?

I really enjoy science and I love the biology degree I'm earning but I'm tired of reading organic chemistry and physics this semester. I just want to relax a bit and not take notes while reading.

Have you read anything on biomimicry?

Carebear_001: I think you'd like this book. It's modern writers writing Sherlock Holmes and one of them has him dealing with Chthulu. It's so fun!

Swamp_Daddy: Behavioral or physical mimicry? I'm more of an animal behavioralist but I know a bit about physical mimicry too.

SillyGooseKnits: I read a book on it once that covered all aspects of biomimicry just because it looked interesting.

knitgurl: I'll take a look at that one. I'll read almost anything!
