Hair people: conditioner and/or leave-in conditioner for damaged hair. Horrid split ends, crazy hard water, brittle, frizzy, mother with curly hair, me with just freakin' frizz and breakage.

I don't shampoo every day, but I do rinse/condition most days, just to get out the sweat from running.

Aussie 3 minute miracle is the conditioner I use whenever my hair gets frazzled and I use the leave in conditioning sprays too, they're really nice esp for detangling long hair

I'll be honest - I stopped using shampoo. I wash my hair twice a week with a dilute vinegar and lemon oil rinse, and my hair has stopped frizzing.

vinegar rinses after regular shampoo / conditioner work nicely too

i keep a bucket in the bathroom for that - fill with cold (!!!) water, add a generous splash of apple vinegar (or w/e vinegar, just not balsamico), let the hair soak for at least a minute, don't rinse.

that's great against frizzy rough hair

as for the split ends, honestly, i would just cut them and wear the hair up as much as possible. the split bits can rough up the rest of the hair and cause more breakage.

Products are less useful here than preventing the breakage to begin with. Avoid heat like blow dryers or heated styling products and don't comb your hair out wet. Hair is like silk and is fragile when wet.

I have really wavy/curly hair that I color so I use gentle shampoo and condition each time. Air dry, brush frequently to get scalp oils distributed and keep ends trimmed. Braids or up will help protect it.

I can't afford expensive products and have no patience for complicated hair routines, and mine is very healthy considering it stays blue :-D

I actually did the vinegar thing a while ago.. I don't remember why I stopped.

I rarely do much to style it at all, usually I just don't feel like it. I'm not sure if that's good though, it actually seemed like it broke less back when I straightened it.

but that might have been from leave-in conditioner or the protect-from-heat stuff.

I like using hot oil, but the vinegar and oil rinse sounds pretty good.

The lemon oil helps remove excess oil, the vinegar cleans other stuff. My scalp is happier than it's ever been and I don't get any yeast infections anymore.

did the apple cider vinegar rinse thing after my run. Pondering whether Kris will be baffled by the water bottle of vinegar in the shower. It's been a while since I did that. And this one is opaque... (LOL)
