[rp] I'm still in that awkward hole where I'm super invested in my characters and interested in the games, but not invested in actually writing tags. Any advice?

I feel shitty. If it keeps up I may end up dropping. I just don't know what's going on or why it's happening. Even threads I super enjoy and look forward to receiving tags from I'm having trouble writing for.

sounds like you might be a little burnt out

i've felt that before. I think yeah you might just need a guilt-free break for a bit and just go back when motivation hits

I've been there and it absolutely sucks :c There are a few things you could try, I think:
Take a break from current threads and do something totally self-indulgent. Like, if you want to play something shippy/smutty or hurt/comfort or an AU or like, ANYTHING YOU WANT no matter what it is, GO FOR IT.
or get somebody to boomerang with you and agree you'll each only take 10mins to tag and after 10mins post whatever you've written even if it sucks.
Forcing yourself to write quickly might help you get over whatever's blocking you.
This might make it worse, but you could try forcing yourself to tag even if you don't feel like it. Your brain might just need to get back in the habit of rping regularly.
Tag your current threads, that is.
Otherwise, yeah, it might be time to take a break. Just cleanse your mind of rp and eventually you'll be refreshed and ready to come back with a clean slate.

I've been writing even when I don't feel like it. I've had a couple times where I was like LET'S DO THIS but I cleaned out my inbox and

nothing happened and I was over it, haha. I think I want more shipping stuff for fluff/fun. The boomerang might help me feel involved.
then yeah, that definitely sounds like time to take a break from your current threads
I'd say get a shippy fluffy thread going and do some boomeranging, and hopefully that'll help get your drive back

But I like my threads.

And I had a break when I was working.

I think I'm just out of the habit of writing.
idk man, idk
FOLLOW YOUR HEART
I'd love to boomerang our psl or do a shippier thread once my finals are over
if that holds interest for you, and no worries at all if not
but yeah, if you think boomeranging will get you more into it and get you back in the habit, go for that

Boomeranging would be cool
Okay. I'm free starting Weds, give me a shout any time after that

I'm wondering if maybe I love a character who's actually super boring to RP with.

It's something I've never really considered before because usually I play serial killers and stuff, but idk.
Maybe try a thread with a more serial killer type character and see if it's any better?
asdfg I'm like just rediscovering plurk because procrastination but I see you like Paul Dierdan and I would totally dig doing a thread with him
though also I don't want to monopolize your rping time
variety being the spice of life
idk whatever you like

I think I need to join a game with a network again

Because all these logs might be what's killing me.

Like, not that I mind them

But it feels like a lot more work to build CR

This is the first time I've ever been in a game without a network.

And I love this game.

But a second might not go amiss

(a third, technically)
that could totally work!
I feel like networks have gotten a bad rap lately, but they definitely make getting new CR way, way easier

I love logs/prose, but networks are great for faster cr and lower pressure. I'm not a writer, so this isn't my natural inclination to write.
