[toys/gender shit]....huh. someone's put out a line of dolls that help introduce girls to STEM
latest #15
My only complaint with this is that the dolls themselves are painfully bland
Like, there's no way I'd want to play with a boring doll when I was a kid
It's why I forgot about Barbie's existence within like...3 years
It's as if the team decided smart = boring and/or stereotypical 80s nerd
Now see, if they had really eye-catching dolls like Monster and Ever After, with a sci-fi theme that helped girls learn STEM basics? Hell yeah
I'd rather learn astrophysics from an alien chick.
Then again I was a pretty imaginative kid. XD
Idk, making things eye catching may not be a bad idea? I know the "girl toys can't include things like that" is kind of....
You can see a lot of the explosion of success when they stop going "eye catching and unusual = boys, girls = only domestic and/or Normal stereotypes, maybe pink"
In the mind of a kid, an alien seems a much better authority than we puny humans anyway
Like...an alien pilot would know all about the laws of aerodynamics, right?
On top of that you could sell accessories like the pilot's ship, and an alternative set that teaches about astronauts or something
....man this is making me want to design some prototypes
