If I've learned anything from the last few weeks, its that I will definitely not be getting a dog. I haven't had a good night's sleep in the last while because of the yapping and whining of one in particular.
I will always maintain that dogs are more trouble than they're worth. They're needy and high-maintenance and loud.
But this is coming from someone who just really doesn't like dogs.
To me they're like children in that I have to be able to give them back when I've had enough.

Dogs are a joy! But they are also like perpetual 3 year olds and many people don't seem to grasp that when they adopt one.
I agree with you both. I really used to like dogs. But alas, their neediness and whining has basically put me off them completely.
Unfortunately the one in question belongs to my parents, who really love him. So there's nothing I can do about the situation.
