I remember once seeing a game back on LJ a few years ago where all the characters were AUs that had crossed over with a different fandom
I never had a chance to join it though, even though I love crossover AUs
Though I'm not sure how many people would actually play in a game like that
I mean the idea is the characters were already part of crossover AUs before entering the game proper and explaining their history in the crossed-over canon is part of their app
That game was pretty small though XD;
I'm probably the only person who likes this idea
I'm not really sure how it'd work
And I'm not very interested in trying to run a game anyway
I sort of get the idea of what you mean, but I want to be certain.
like, I remember way back in A_Facility, there was an event where everyone's characters were from a DIFFERENT canon than what they were originally. Like at least one of the Homestuck chars was now a diclonius
several were Masters or Servants from the Fate series.
and their memories were as if they'd ALWAYS been that 'canon' as opposed to what they originally were.
are you thinking that kind of Crossover-AU?
Also the kind of crossover AU where characters from one canon take the roles of the characters from a different canon, like how once I had an idea where Ahiru/Duck from Princess Tutu was Daisuke from DNAngel
the hard part for me is always AU backstory and figuring out how the chars would work with that
I was in a semi AU Naruto-based game once, that was modern-day but still with Ninjas, and Renegade Ninjas, and then Ninja Hunters. I was laying Kakashi
Though it's also like another Tutu AU idea where Mytho was a summoner from Spira with the other Tutu characters as his guardians, and they became Sphere Hunters after the calm came, but they were seperate from
(although damn, I'd lay that man too)
so I had to think about how, for Kakashi, what would he be like in a modern setting? and how would he handle certain things? (like keeping face hidden and waht not)
Yeah, it would take some thinking about how to adapt characters to different settings
for me at least, I have little confidence in my OCs, and tha tsometimes translates to doing AUs too. b/c how do I know how 'reasonable' something is vs. how much like a Mary Sue in bad ways?
A lot of the time my more active muses are ones that I first played in an AU game, since I guess thinking about how to adapt them to a different setting helped me get into their heads better XD;
otherwise it's an interesting idea, and I've seen single-theme games done (i.e where everyone is in the Persona verse, or a Master or Servant in the Grail Wars) etc, but not a 'pan-fandom' multi-genre/canon
where as my more active muses are teh ones I can get into the heads of no matter what, and I love throwing into different situations and seeing how they grow
and what paths would take them there, and so on
Well, like I said, I had seen one, but it was a fairly small game and I don't think it lasted that long
dunno if I'd play, but it def. seems like a neat concept
Yeah, unfortunately, like I said, I don't really think I'd make a really good mod, so I don't really think I'd actually make this game XD;
certainly not solo, and not in any capacity other than as a junior-mod at the very bare minimum >.<
Yeah, I know how that feels
