Well, I was talking with her about how I was annoyed that we didn't get much closure for the Beforans at all, but then really that boiled down to a problem I've had since Game Over-which is that I don't think-
Aranea got the closure she deserved. I think the story arc was fine, but being the only character to die that didn't come back in the whole retcon bs and having basically none of the remaining cast so much as-
bat an eye was heavily frustrating for me.
Especially with how much I invested in that character, specifically-I spent a fair portion of time as the longest running Aranea rp blog on tumblr.
I can say with confidence that I wouldn't be here, on plurk, without that rp blog.
And there was a period where I literally told friends of mine that were quitting after the retcon that I was hanging on entirely to see if she ever came up again.
Man you're right. Game Over was her last appearance.
The comic in general has a problem with dropping its characters and their arcs at the drop of a hat
Both last appearance and last mention.
I'm fine with her staying dead.
I'm not so fine that Meenah and Vriska don't seem to care a lick.
Yeah, it's something that happens with a lot of its characters, and I can't be the only one that feels this way about a character in Homestuck by any means-but for me personally, she's obviously the one that -
Hell, I've got a friend that will still call me 'Windfang' if I respond to something I'm rping with her particularly quickly.
I don't blame you at all. I feel awful that Jade didn't get more time, honestly, she gets the least of the main four by far. She kept getting shunted to the side
and one of my best friends used to play Jade everywhere and I really loved their portrayal
Yeah, Jade out of the main four is the far most prone to being a plot device by the end. (Though I guess Dave held that for a while further back.)
Dave ended up getting some amazing characterization towards the end. Rose had a lot of great stuff in act 5 and John's been good all around. But Jade...
Ended up by herself on the ship for three years in one universe and ended up forcibly turned evil in another one
