poor thing
Oddly enough I'm way more sympathetic to him in CW than I was in WS
well because we can actually see his personality now
yesss
in tws he was still a tool for like 97% of the film so
Also I don't have a Tony to bounce off of? So if you're interested in anything with the two of them, I'm game c:
i would be down i'm just not sure how to orchestrate it
The only Tony I really know is... me, and then you.
lol
wow really?
our numbers must have declined
Nah, I'm just not active anywhere.
I only do PSLs in my own place
I don't even browse baker street or dear_mun ever
well tbh i think there are fewer anyway. mcu fandom has developed complicated feelings about tony stark
yes, he seems to be getting the shit end of the stick lately.
like Steve is a shiny angel
I have complicated feelings toward all of them
but I'm still the most sympathetic to Tony, I always will be.
tony my son
Although there's one point in CW (not willing to add spoilers into this plurk) where Bucky kinda broke my heart a little?
When they're flying to the place.
i've been stuck on tony for eight years and somehow never changed
Yeah basically this is me too
yeah i definitely think out of everyone like. tony and bucky got the worst of it from this film
Oh for sure.
Screw it I'm adding a spoiler tag to this
I want to chat
Did you notice how Steve just refuses to talk about his feelings? Come on man.
Why is it that in his own movie, Tony is the one who's the most open and willing to compromise?
hey man idk
That man, oh my god, his face when they were together and he offered the olive branch? My heart. He was trying so hard
Steve was so close
yeah dude i swear rdj's acting is like 60% of what sold his side of things
Oh for sure
like every single time they met tony kept trying to talk
Honestly I kinda wish we could go back in time and let the Russo brothers take on the IM films
other than the first one
that one is fine by itself
no one is allowed to touch iron man 1
tbh i also really love im3
nope
i don't think it needs to be changed
you know I don't hate it
i hate the ending?
like absolutely hate it
but there are parts I like
okay well yes the last like six minutes
anything to do with removing the arc reactor without any explanation at all
Okay so the whole Pepper thing
I'm really mad at her
Like so mad.
I'm really happy they're not together anymore but she was just... I just have no time for her anymore, I feel like they did her a disservice somewhere in the writing department.
Because in IM3 she was just not good to me.
yeah her character shifted somewhere
well tbh her im3 character is probably weird bc originally they had written that first really terrible storyline for her
She was fine in Avengers and then just NOT in IM3? Maybe that's what I feel like I don't like
and they cut it out too late i think
Her not actively being involved in helping him through his anxiety
but shunning him and making him feel like shit for the things he felt he needed to do?
or something, idk. i think pepper was experiencing a lot of shit too and neither one of them was talking about any of it. not that i don't also think you're right, definitely
she was right in that what he was doing wasn't really that healthy but she wasn't right in that she stopped there and didn't give him an alternative or anything
Right
she just told him to stop and go back to the way he was before, when that wasn't going to be possible
Telling him that his suits are a distraction and basically forcing him to blow them up
like do you EVEN REALIZE HOW MUCH MONEY HE DESTROYED
like so much
so much
Then to not only lose his extra armors but also JARVIS in AoU too? Then after that Pepper who finally had enough? Wow. Wow. Way to fuck up his head for a good long time.
well and his suits were a distraction. he was distracting himself from his anxiety by coming up with contingency after contingency and the simple process of thinking up all those scenarios like
Who does he have but Rhodey left?
it wasn't a good thing
No it wasn't good, but she was supposed to be there for him to pull him out and didn't.
lmao did you see what i said my my plurk last night about who was actually still left on tony's team at the end?
Yes ;a;
Like... no one.
like it was so sad when i actually noticed that
It's really sad.
Black Panther was entirely personal-related.
Spider-man had no idea what was really going on, he was just following a father figure.
one guy who has been his friend forever, a star-struck teenager, a new guy who is only on his team bc he hates someone on the other one, and an entity 60 to 80
% made by tony himself
like holy shit dude
Y E P
i know you saw it but i just keep thinking about it like literally every single other teammate or friend left
Also Steve's letter at the end, where he's like 'I'm glad you're back at the compound and not in a lonely mansion by yourself'
Well fuck me, he has no one.
NO ONE.
JARVIS is gone.
I'm so upset about that still, tbh.
I will be for awhile. I get that Vision is around but, he's not JARVIS.
whether it was by force (jarvis, sort of), by choice (steve, clint, natasha, wanda), or they left before it started (pepper, technically bruce)
Speaking of Clint - I don't like him in the MCU really at all?
and even rhodey now is like. he's with tony but he's not going to be in the game as easily unless they make some quick improvements to those legs
I think Jeremy Renner is a real bummer for his character.
eh i like clint. i don't really have a problem with him considering they don't really give him too much to do
I love Clint in all other forms of his character except the MCU, and I just don't think Jeremy Renner has the attitude for Clint to make it work properly.
Yeah, it wasn't a huge part, I just... Idk he rubs me the wrong way sometimes.
i'm only familiar with mcu and the one hawkeye series everyone's read
Not Clint, but JR
I've been watching Avengers Assemble and honestly I laugh out loud at Clint almost every episode.
i still haven't watched that one.
It's not as good story wise as EMH (which I adore) but the animation is pretty good and the one-liners between them all are gold
There's a part where Steve sasses Tony about him not understanding technology
and it's positively golden
yeah i liked emh a lot
EMH was really great.
I'm really upset Netflix took it down I was going to rewatch all of it
which is why I decided to finally watch AA, because that's what was there
ANYWAY
i think i have emh somewhere on my computer
if you want to do anything with Bucky, I'll happily throw him at your Tony
I'm sure we can finagle something to be like, mid-movie or something, Idk.
it's kind of tricky yeah
getting the two of them in the same space isn't easy with how quick the movie was
pacing wise
bc for 80% of the movie they're not in the same place and for 19% of that they're fighting, and 1% semi-cordial working together
then bucky was all let me go back to sleep yo i'm dangerous
wait not 19% of the 80%...
lol i get you
lmao god if tony knew bucky was just
My heart hurts that Bucky is more accepting of what happened to him than Steve is
Honestly I'm a little bummed that Bucky wasn't a little more 'just let him kill me, this life kinda sucks'
technically being kept somewhere asleep now he'd be like '??????? what is the difference between that and what we were originally fucking talking about i didn't even want to put him out!!'
tbh i think bucky was mostly just going with it for steve. i mean he clearly had a good self-preservation thing going on but he also clearly wasn't happy and knew he was dangerous
yep
I agree entirely
but all the way up until zemo reactivated him he still had hope that maybe he'd gotten over what was in his head
and that after that yeah it just wasn't there for him anymore
douchebag zemo
i was so worried about him before seeing the movie
i was like 'how in the fuck are they even going to add another villain into this they have so much to deal with already'
then zemo is the catalyst for it all and i'm pleased with that
i was thinking like purple suit zemo
and i worried they'd go somewhere crazy
yeah i was familiar with zemo a little bit beforehand but i didn't really go into it expecting much
the only person i was actually expecting good things from was spider-man and i was so happy i wasn't disappointed
yesssss
what an adorable little spider-ling
i will say the first time i saw it i was a little put off by a tony/peter conversation that went on so long during a captain america movie? but they really did need it in there
yeah i'm sorry i loved it i didn't even care
it was a nice bit of a break from things
no i agree it was good, I liked the movie more overall the second time I saw it
It's a good insight into Tony, too
plus i mean they were probably using it to hook people further into seeing the spider-man standalone tbh
that too it was nice to see him being himself
Honestly I think Peter is good for him? Like, forced semi-fatherhood
yeah i loved at the end where he was just like 'okay YOU'RE DONE YOU'RE GOING HOME RIGHT NOW'
lol yes
GO HOME OR I'LL TELL AUNT MAY
'no no i'm good i can still-' 'you're GOING HOME I WILL TELL AUNT MAY'
it was good it was great I love it
right in the adolescence
and I must say
Sam and Bucky
the bromance
I love it.
lmao they were hilarious
'Can you move your seat up' 'No.'
just 'we're both here because we have a mutual friend and that is it.'
'Couldn't you have done that a little earlier?' 'I hate you.'
they were great
I think sam was a little miffed that Steve found a better bestie
which was hilarious bc bucky was actually there first
lol yup
Honestly I also love how grounded Bucky was?
yeah that was nice
Like he was in the background a lot but he was actually really chill
Even when he was captured he wasn't freaking out, he was just like alright this is my life now great.
i think he'd been preparing himself for that one for a while anyway
he knew the end for him was either death or recapture
yeah
I could have watched an entire movie with him just existing on his own
and re-learning everything
without anyone getting involved
The Captain
this plurk
The Captain
Also you know I'll always bounce my Steve off your Bucky :3
Yesssss that I know |D
Steve is easier to find a place to chat with Bucky
For Tony it's difficult because of his inherent need to murder the person who killed his mom
The movie made Rping with the two of them REALLY DIFFICULT
yeah they're either not talking bc they're not in contact or they're not talking bc one of them is about to be murdered, so
yay murder
also pretty sure tony's life flashed before his eyes with steve holding the shield over him
i think he legit thought he was going to kill him
lmao yeah no uh
for a little while there i thought tony was about to die too
so i understand his fear
oh me too
I was like oh look my boy is about to die by cap's hand
this is new
ugh rdj did so good
Also his suit is so... sexy. So streamlined. So perfect. My only beef is he put his suit on overtop an unzipped leather jacket that probably chafed and irritated the shit out of his chest
But this is me being over observant
he's p used to wearing a bunch of different stuff under his suits by now i think though
i'm sad they never gave him his under suit after his initial run to Gulmira
and we never got a good look at him in it either
like in EMH he wore his under suit around a lot, and it was sexy business even for a cartoon
yeah he technically had an undersuit on in the alternate ending for im2
oooo
but i think they decided needing an undersuit and having to have the actual armor with him probably made him take too long to get ready or smth
alternate ending? did i miss some deleted scenes or something?
uh let me see
this is the one actually in the novelisation too, bc they changed it after they made the book
i like it a bit more than the other one, i think
hmm
i see why they changed it for the movie though
aspects of it, anyway. i like the techball and this one feels like there's more teamwork, but yeah it's not half as flash
it works better in the novelisation
right, i would imagine so! i remember something about that techball being a big part of the early stages of IM2
and that Pepper was playing with it when Tony went in there to ApologizeButNotApologize
Man he's grown up so much since then wow
Like maturity level +200%
I think both IM3 and AoU really opened his eyes to the wonders of verbalizing your fears and talking about them
Sure wish Steve would get with that program
mmmm
haha yeah i could watch a whole movie of just tony making things
Right????
I miss those days where they showed off him building shit
and blowing up shit
