Suppose you've been rping a character with an un- or ill-defined sexuality as, well, a certain sexuality, and then new canon information comes out that reveals them to be some non-hetero sexuality.
(I ask this as a hetero person who couldn't give a crap if people play hetero characters as not such because turns out we don't exactly need the extra representation it's already everywhere.)
(And because I saw a buzzfeed video about the hashtag '#GiveElsaAGirlfriend' and was wondering what I would do if she were to be canonically gay while I've been playing her as pan.)
Preferably stick/change to canon if it strictly says that they're that
Playing them as pan wouldn't bug me as much as playing them as straight, but.. >,> WE don't get a ton of represntation, na having a disney queen be gay would be just. SUch a freaking big deal...
It would be nice to see it actually honored as such.
That was my thought. I'd feel badly for people whose cr I needed to alter/lose in the case of games, but the representation is more important-and obviously outside of established rp there'd be zero issue -
I doubt theyh ever will, though
Yeah, I don't necessarily think it'll happen, though it would be hella.
I also half-expect that even if she gets a girlfriend they wouldn't specify her sexuality, though idk obviously.
On the long shot they did give her a girlfriend, I think they might specify - because 1. they'd want all the credit, and 2, tbh they'd probably rather ignore bi/pan and just have her go one way or the other.
(THOUGH. They did finally put one of my girls in a lesbian relationship, and now I need to go catch up with once. ;;;; )
EVENTUALLy, When I'm put to putting myself through it
Yeah, I watched the rest of last season finally but it's such a struggle to watch on hulu.
I mostly lost all iterest when Megan Ory left - but then they brought ruby back, and now I hear they're using her, and maybe i'll pick her up again idk, but... eyah
Well, I might get to starting the newest season sooner than you, and if so I'll let you know how involved she is.
It's less her overall interaction,s and more ONE thing in particular they did diwth her
