Not to say that it hasn't been without worth!

But. Ahh. I really got cocky and thought I could move in and do well right from the get go and that hasn't happened...like, at all.

I blame my stubbornness. I've never really been involved in games that are, well, this well thought out, I guess?

(Which is really, really good. I'm very happy that I'm involved in games where there's actual regular activity and most players don't drop into the void)

But at the same time I'm more overwhelmed than I'm willing to admit.

I've been in rp for years now and I still don't get it, so having to adjust is fine.

It doesn't help that I was super cocky and rude about the whole thing tho.

Like. I've been RPing for almost ten freaking years and most RP groups I've joined are either super exclusive and hard to make friends, or dry up after a few months

So to see a site where stuff like that doesn't seem to happen nearly as much is...kind of a relief?

There's also the fact that I've never had to make such detailed apps before, or well. I have. For really snobby sites where the mods expected a novella for each post, so it skewed my impression.

DWRP can be hard to get into because it's insular and has developed a lot of its own traditions

Just gotta be patient sometimes and let yourself adjust!

It also doesn't help that my first experience in a game was Kyriakos, which I'm told is very different.

Yeah I think there's flexibility because even in DWRP itself there are several different styles of playing

(See: ecats and other games, but also game genres, sizes, etc)

Yeah it's built on networking so it might take some effort to get yourself and your character out there

OCs especially since the RP is fandom-leaning, might need to work harder, but I know especially in they've done really well
