it's like because we're a small business, they can try and convince us to lower the price of something

like you don't go to the grocery store and go ring up all your groceries and be like "yo this is bullshit i want it for cheaper"

i mean i'm sure a select special few do that but

our prices are set for a reason, we can't go any lower or else the labor and time spent wouldn't equal out to the cost, and when you're a small business in this economy, you REALLY can't afford that

and then customers try and guilt trip me and it's like

look i'm dead inside, you're barking up the wrong tree

THERE REALLY SHOULD BE

LIKE, WE OFFER A VERY SPECIALIZED SERVICE, AND IT USES VERY EXPENSIVE, USUALLY HARD TO FIND EQUIPMENT

IT'S GONNA BE EXPENSIVE DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU WANT, OKAY?

our 8mm/16mm/super 8 film is SO expensive, but that's because there are LITERALLY no more machines that do the conversion that we do

the three machines we have are the only ones left, you can't find them on ebay or specialized retailers anywhere, we have to ship them off to CA to get them fixed

and the last film order my boss worked on was SIX GRAND

SO LIKE YEAH, IT'S EXPENSIVE, I GET THAT, I COULDN'T AFFORD THIS SHIT

but i also understand why it's so expensive

and the stuff that's easy to come by and do, like VHS conversion, we don't charge much at all!!!!!

i just hate when i explain exactly why the prices vary and why it's so expensive and they're like "well that's still bullshit make an exception for me"
