I think I'm going to insist that the next time they want me to do an 11 hour shift they need to let me have a lunch break.
........I'm pretty sure it's illegal for you not to have one in a shift that long?
uuuuuh yeah that's a. legal. requirement.
IN MOST STATES ANYWAY a shift over 8 hours is required to have at least a 15 minute break.
Yeah, it's not illegal in PA
Most jobs will still give you one, but not mine.
because i live in PA and my bosses at my last job told me i'd get fired if i didn't take my lunch because it was illegal for me not to.
i mean granted then hands changed and all of a sudden 13 hour shifts by myself but
Sadly yes. Several years ago when they told us they were getting rid of breaks we all said the same thing.
But then we looked it up. Those laws are by state. A lot of people think it's a federal law but it isn't.
And PA has really awful labor laws.
But because almost every job gives you breaks without any trouble, it's not something that often comes up.
does your job have an HR company in another state? that could be a loophole :\a
Well, the corporate office is based out of RI, but I'm not sure if that matters.
