The "correct" pronunciation depends on who you ask. American schoolchildren will say it as Dede said. Japanese businessmen would probably say "poe keh mon". What I recall from my former roommate is that no

syllable is stressed in Japanese. I think the accent is there for Americans so they don't say "poke mon".
